The Asylum rock & roll lounge is no longer open, so if you’re looking for somewhere to go to enjoy your night into the early hours of the morning, you need to look for a different venue. But don’t worry, Washington DC has loads of great places that are open late. Here are some of our favorites…
Sax is utterly stunning. You feel as if you’ve stepped into the Moulin Rouge. The golden sparking accents, the chandeliers and the rich red velvets all perfectly compliment the live entertainment. From aerialists and pole dancing to ballet. Of course there’s a dance floor too, playing modern house and chart music.
If you want a night club with a view, then views don’t get much better than that at POV. This club is located on the top floor with stunning vistas across Washington DC. You can enjoy a drink while looking out at the White House and the Washington Monument. There is a covered outside area, to take in the air, and seating inside too. There’s a dance floor and a wide variety of different styles of music are played. Just be sure to dress correctly as they do enforce their ‘casual sophistication’ dress code after 9pm on a Friday and Saturday night, so jeans and trainers should be swapped for shoes and trousers.
We now go downwards to the underground club Heist. You may not even spot the small entrance on Dupont Circle, but once you descend, it all opens out. This is a great place to go if you love cocktails and Champagne. All different types of music are played here. Look out for the gold buffalo skull above the DJ booth.
If you love retro music, then you’ll love Decades. There are 3 floors, each one dedicated to a different decade. You can choose from 80s, 90s or 2000s music. Finally, there’s a fourth floor, right at the top. A cool rooftop space.
This comfortable and relaxing club offers five rooms to entertain you. It’s a laid back casual environment that often has live bands playing.
