From start to finish, a meal at The Asylum was always tasty. There was so much choice on the menu, everyone could certainly find something they would love. What’s more, most of the items on the menu could be made vegan on request so this was the perfect place to go if you were vegan or vegetarian or were taking out friends who had specific dietary requirements. From vegan brunch, to a full three course meal, whatever you wanted, you could get it at The Asylum.
The Asylum wings were a speciality and you could choose how hot you wanted them. A mild X, a fairly spicy XX or would you be brave and go for the super hot XXX wings? The Guinness Beer Battered Chicken Tenders were also a treat. They were served with your choice of BBQ sauce, blue cheese dressing, ranch dressing or honey mustard. They also did a mean quesadilla, there were vegan and vegetarian quesadillas on the menu as well as chicken.
With a wide range of vegan, veggie and meat burgers to choose from, burger lovers were spoilt for choice at The Asylum. The vegan Boca Burger was a big hit, as was the Spicy Black Bean Burger. The Chicken Club Sandwich was delightful, with turkey bacon, lots of oozing melted pepper Jack cheese and honey mustard, served on Texas Toast.
All the pizzas were served individual size and were freshly made on the premises. You could choose from such delights as the California Pizza, simply made with mozzarella and sliced tomatoes. Or the spicy Mexican Pizza, with veggie or beef chilli, a blend of melted cheddar and Jack cheese topped with jalapeños and sour cream. The wraps were great for a lighter meal, you could choose from a fajita wrap with strips of chicken or steak with sautéed onions and peppers, salad served with salsa and sour cream on the side. Or there was the Grilled Vegan Wrap, no, not made from grilled vegans, but actually made with your choice of grilled tofu or portobello mushroom. This was served with vegan cheese and vegan sour cream.
